Effrosyni Kostara holds a PhD in Adult Education and she is specialized in teachers’ training. Her research focuses on the theories and methodology of learning and on the enhancement of critical thinking through the use of literature and ancient Greek tragedy.  She has published several chapters and papers on the importance of critical reflection in adult education and her forthcoming book by Routledge is titled Diversity and Inclusivity through Classics: A Teaching Methodology. She is a Research Assistant at the ERC funded project Our Mythical Childhood and Honorary Research Fellow at Roehampton University- School of Humanities and Social Sciences (2022-2025). Since 2022 she is a researcher at the Institute of Educational Policy responsible for the new school curricula and for the teachers’ training. She teaches Adult Education in the Hellenic Open University.
