Alexis Kokkos is Emeritus Professor of Adult Education in the Hellenic Open University. He has actively participated in the establishment of the institution of Popular Education in Greece, as well as in the foundation of the Hellenic Open University. He was the scientific responsible of the national program of Training the Educators of Professional Training. He is Chairperson of the Hellenic Adult Education Association and editor-in-chief of the international journal ADULT EDUCATION Critical Issues. His books and articles on Adult Education and Training, as well as on Transformative Learning, have been published in Jossey-Bass, Palgrave Macmillan, Brill/Sense, Routledge, Nova Science Publishers, Journal of Transformative Education, RELA, Convergence, LifeLong Learning in Europe, International Journal of Education and Ageing, Andragogical Studies, International Journal of Vocational and Technical Education.

Thanassis Karalis is Professor of Lifelong Learning and Adult Education in the Department of Educational Science and Early Childhood Education at the University of Patras, director of the Laboratory of Pedagogical Research and Lifelong Education and coordinator of the Center of Teaching and Learning at the University of Patras. His research interests include adult and higher education, planning and evaluation of non-formal education programs, distance education and e-learning, and teaching and learning in higher education. He is a founding member and member of the Board of Directors of the Hellenica Adult Education Association.
Secretery
Katerina Kedraka is a Professor of Teaching and Job Skills of Bioscientists and Lifelong Learning at the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics, Democritus University of Thrace. She is the Director of the Laboratory of ‘Teaching and Professional Development of Bioscientists’ and directs the Postgraduate Programme ‘Teaching of Biosciences’. She is the Coordinator of the Centre for Support of Teaching and Learning and a member of the Board of the Centre for Further Education and Lifelong Learning of the Hellenic University of Thessaloniki. She is a founding member of the Greek Network of University Pedagogy and President of the corresponding Balkan Network established through the Erasmus+ MAGNET programme. She is an elected member of the Board of the Hellenic Adult Education, co-editor of the international journal Adult Education Critical Issues and member of ITLA. Her teaching and research work focuses on Adult Education, University Pedagogy, Teaching and Learning in Higher Education, Vocational Counselling and Career Management for adults, trainers, bioscientists, women, vulnerable groups and young people.

Manos Pavlakis is Assistant Professor Professor of Adult Education at Frederick University and he is the coordinator of the Master’s Program in Educational Administration/Leadership. He was the Learning Director of the Greek branch of the international award-winning educational organization JA Greece and he has worked for over 15 years as an HR trainer/consultant with experience in the design, implementation and evaluation of training and research programs/activities for public, private and third sector organizations, specializing in Training of Trainers and development of horizontal competencies. He has taught in postgraduate programmes at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, the Hellenic Open University, the European University Cyprus, the Open University of Cyprus, the Democritus University of Thrace and his research interests are related to learning in the workplace, learning organizations and the professional education of trainers/educators with publications in international and Greek journals and conferences. He was the creator of the educational material for the international project ‘Youreca’ which received the Unesco Quality and Excellence Award and has been distinguished for his social action by receiving, as President of Youthnet Hellas, the European Citizenship Award from the European Parliament in 2013. He holds degrees in Greek Literature (EKPA) and European Culture (HOU), postgraduate degrees in Human Resource Development (Leeds University Business School) and Political Science (University of Crete), a PhD in Adult Education (HOU) and has completed post-doctoral research on behavioural learning in the workplace (Stockholm University).

Dr. Natassa Raikou teaches adult and higher education at the University of Patras and the Hellenic Open University. She has a long teaching experience on higher education and teachers training programs, with publications in international and Greek journals. Ira Papageorgiou holds a PhD in Adult Education from the University of Glasgow, a postgraduate degree in Adult Education and Community Development and an undergraduate degree in Linguistics and Political Science. She has conducted research in various fields of adult education (second language education, the role of adult educators, vocational education and training, trade union education, women’s education, etc.).

Effrosyni Kostara holds a PhD in Adult Education and she is specialized in teachers’ training. Her research focuses on the theories and methodology of learning and on the enhancement of critical thinking through the use of literature and ancient Greek tragedy. She has published several chapters and papers on the importance of critical reflection in adult education and her forthcoming book by Routledge is titled Diversity and Inclusivity through Classics: A Teaching Methodology.
European Programmes Responsible
Polyxeni is an Adult Educator specialised in Non-Formal Education.She has a vast experience (since 1996) in project management both of European and national programs. She has been working as an adult educator internationally since (2002) and has developed training methodologies on issues such as: Women empowerment in the labour market, Human Rights Education for teachers and youth workers, Non Formal Education as a means to empower refugees and migrants. Xenia is active in the international voluntary movement since 1996 and has been involved in numerous related projects both as a volunteer and project coordinator.
